Projects
The following projects showcase the important work I've done throughout my musical formation. Click the underlined titles or images to explore!
During my senior year at Miami University, I worked with a handful of peers to bring to life the beautiful compositions of Andrew Levin, a violist, pianist, and retired professor of Clemson University. When that project wrapped up, I made it a personal goal to learn & record all 12 of Levin's published waltzes. I aim to release an album of the works by Summer 2025.
This individual project was created as part of a larger effort to make music education available to all. My website is published online and is open-access. The goal of my Garofalo site is as a guide for music educators to use should they choose to use March to the Scaffold as repertoire in their string orchestra classroom.
This project was aimed at researching the various eras of western classical music. For each era, I was tasked with identifying the contexts & characteristics for each era, as well as doing an analysis of a work from each era.
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) is a subject of utmost importance in music. This project is a result of a unit in my collegiate Music History course, and explores DEI issues within the classical music community, as well as how to solve those issues.
As the final project for my Counterpoint class, I was tasked with writing a traditional baroque fugue. The main theme of my project was inspired by the opening statements of Bach's Little Fugue in G minor.
In this group project, I explored the Social Foundations in Education, Critical Race Theory, the School-to-Prison Pipeline, and various other aspects of the American education system.
In this project, I researched Green Day's album American Idiot. I explored the political connections of the album, as well as the voices/characters it represents and the album's overall messages.
In this research project, I investigated the origins of the modern violin & violin bow.
In this paper, I researched traditional notation and piano roll notation; my goal was to determine which, if either, was more effective as a way of teaching music literacy.
In this research project, I researched cross-curricular connections and accessibility in music, as well as the benefits of music & community involvement in public education.
This project was incredibly fun! I worked with my CCA 202 class to create, market, publish, and release a pop single. I led the creative team, participating in the composition, songwriting, recording, and mastering processes. The song is now available on all major streaming services -- just search for Arizona Bound by Auxford Records!
In this white paper, I researched current copyright laws and issues with them, as well as copyright standards, procedures, and misconceptions.
In this paper, I researched music braille -- a system of writing music for visually impaired individual. Through the paper, I came to understand how it's read and written, as well as the benefits and drawbacks of braille music.
